The capacity of the human mind to deal with trauma is extraordinary and brilliant. God has built into us the ability to escape (even if temporary) when pain or trauma has become too much for us to bear. Have you ever been driving and listening to the radio to realize you don’t even remember how you got to your destination? Well, you likely dissociated in the form of checking out. Don’t worry; you aren’t crazy or alone, as it is very common. The degrees of dissociation and the impact it has on one's life can vary greatly.

“New Wine” by Hillsong Worship

and lead me in the way everlasting.
Psalm 139:23-24
