Your mama may have told you you can be anything you want, but that’s not entirely true. God made each one of us uniquely and he has many purposes for us. He does not always lead us on a path that uses our natural gifts and abilities. In fact, it is in
God’s character to do the opposite, so that we can’t take credit for the things he does through us. God’s plan is not for you to be whatever you want. When we are serving ourselves, it’s the same as rejecting God. He asks us to look to him for guidance and surrender to his will. It’s our responsibility to walk out what God has ordained for us to do.
